You smile, squint, frown, raise your brows. Skin folds the same way, over and over, and the lines eventually stick around. Botox and Dysport calm the tiny muscles that make those lines so your skin can relax and smooth out. At SD Weight Loss Center in Spring Valley, injections are planned and supervised by Michael Woo-Ming, MD, MPH. He’s Mayo Clinic trained, has been practicing in Southern California since the late ’90s, and he treats this like medicine, not a trend. Placement is mapped to how your face actually moves, dose is conservative, and the goal is balance.
What we treat here, in plain English
Forehead creases from years of raising your brows. The “11s” between your eyebrows. Crow’s feet when you smile. Bunny lines along the nose. Lip lines and gummy smiles. Vertical neck bands that pull the face down. If it’s a movement line, Botox or Dysport can usually help. If it’s deeper texture or a scar, we’ll talk about microneedling or PRP/PRF instead, or combine treatments when that’s the smarter move.
Botox or Dysport?
Both are neuromodulators and both work. Botox tends to stay a bit more “in place,” which we like for tiny areas. Dysport can spread a little wider, which is handy for broad foreheads. Dysport often shows earlier (2 to 3 days). Botox usually settles in fully by day 5 to 7. Expect results to last around three to four months. We’ll choose based on your anatomy and goals, not brand loyalty.
What an appointment looks like
We watch you talk, smile and frown. That tells us where the muscles actually pull. Quick photos for your chart. A few small injections with a fine needle; most people describe it as a fast pinch. You’re out the door in minutes. Skip heavy workouts until tomorrow, don’t rub the area, and don’t lie flat for a few hours. Mild redness is normal and fades the same day.
How it should look when it’s right
You’ll still move. You’ll just soften the creases that were doing you no favors. Makeup sits better, selfies are kinder, and people ask if you slept well. If you prefer “I still want to raise my brows a bit,” we dose for that. If you want stronger control between the eyes, we can do that too. Personal preference is part of the plan.
Who’s a good fit (and when we’ll say no)
Great for anyone with lines that deepen when you make an expression. It’s a solid preventive move in your late 20s and 30s and a reliable tidy-up in your 40s, 50s and beyond. We hold off during pregnancy and nursing. If a neuromuscular condition or a medication you’re on makes this a bad idea, we’ll tell you straight.
Pricing that doesn’t play games
We price by the unit, tell you how many you actually need, and show you the total before we start. No bundles you didn’t ask for. If you need fewer units, that’s what you’ll get. If a touch-up makes sense at follow-up, we’ll map it and keep it reasonable.
Good pairings (when it helps)
If texture or acne scars are part of your story, microneedling adds collagen where Botox and Dysport can’t. For under-eyes that look tired, PRF can help where relaxers won’t. If you’re also working on weight, hormones or GLP-1 support here, we’ll schedule injections so everything plays nicely together.
Local pace, zero drama
Spring Valley schedules are packed: commutes on the 125, school pickups, real jobs. Appointments are quick, parking is easy, results are natural. If you’ve been searching “Botox Spring Valley” or “Dysport near me” and you’re over hard sell and heavy hands, come see how low-key this can be. This is about softening the noise, not changing your face.
