Laser treatments
Laser treatments use focused light tuned to specific wavelengths. If you want skin rejuvenation, lasers can help restore collagen production and stimulate your skin to return to a healthier state. At SD Weight Loss Center we use Astanza laser systems: higher power for faster results and advanced beam delivery for safety. The Astanza REVIVE IPL laser uses Dye-PL, AFT and NIR technology for face and body treatments, suitable for all skin types (I to VI) and safe for thin and delicate areas.
Over the years, practitioners have helped shape Astanza technology into laser systems that are sophisticated yet simple to operate, with higher power for faster results and advanced beam delivery for patient safety. Results include an improvement in the appearance of vascular and pigmented lesions, pore size reduction, and improved tone and texture for smooth, silky skin.
Laser hair removal
Our laser uses SHR (Super Hair Removal) technology, delivering a high repetition rate of short pulses deep into the dermis for therapeutically effective heat build-up with virtually no pain. It treats the widest range of skin and hair types, quickly and comfortably. Read about laser hair removal.
Laser hair removal remains one of the most popular aesthetic procedures. Anyone with excess body hair or hair in the wrong place, anyone tired of tedious plucking, daily shaving and money spent on waxing or other hit-and-miss solutions, is a good candidate.
Skin rejuvenation, photofacials and skin tightening (IPL)
Brief, high-energy laser pulses cause a photoacoustic effect in the skin, stimulating cells to produce more collagen. People notice smoother, softer skin early, and the effects continue to improve over the following months as natural collagen is replenished, reducing fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, acne scars, enlarged pores and uneven tone. The procedure requires no consumables and is typically performed on the face, neck or hands. Side effects are mild: a slightly pinkish tone, as if you had just exfoliated.
People see improvements in appearance, elasticity and tone as early as the first treatment: fine lines diminish, texture feels more consistent, and scars are less apparent. Resurfacing results continue to build with repeat treatments over time, which is why laser skin rejuvenation is a treatment people return for.
Vascular lesions
Spider veins, telangiectasia, port wine stains and hemangioma are blood vessels visible through the skin, most common on the face or legs. Small vascular lesions can often be removed in a single treatment, and most people see significant improvement after one session with the Astanza Q-switched laser.
Pigmented lesions (spots)
Dark areas of the skin caused by excess melanin in skin cells. Some are present at birth, such as birthmarks, and some are acquired over time with age or as sunspots on sun-exposed areas: freckles, moles, age spots, café-au-lait spots, sunspots, Nevus of Ota, Nevus of Ito and Mongolian spots among them. Targeted light energy breaks the pigment down over a short series of treatments.
Acne treatment
Acne is the most common skin condition and is experienced by people of all ages, some more severely than others. Medically referred to as acne vulgaris, it involves the overproduction of oil in the sebaceous glands; clogged pores lead to bacterial infection, painful inflammation and blemishes. Almost 20% of all acne cases are experienced by adults. Intense pulsed light therapy has proven effective for acne vulgaris, slowing the production of excess oil. Light energy directed at the affected pores triggers a photo-electrochemical process that kills bacteria and reduces acne severity.
